Lewis with his allergy patches!

What a good Friday this Good Friday has been for us today!
But first I will tell you about Thursday, which was also a lovely day for us.
On Thursday morning at 10.30am we went to the hospital for Lewis to have his allergy patches put on his back for 2 days. They come off Saturday night. Jayne (Homecare) met us there and she seems to know everybody as everybody was saying hello to her!
On the way home from hospital, we popped to Asda to get some goodies for lunch then we went to collect Lynda and Callum to bring them back to our house for our ladies lunch! Shortly after, Jill and Johnson arrived. We had a lovely lunch and Samuel enjoyed playing with Callum and Johnson. Lewis was very tired and warm so he sat in the lounge for a little while watching his favourite Bear in the Big Blue House until after we had eaten lunch then he came to sit with us outside.
A bit later, Denise, Maisie and Oliver came over and we all spent ages chatting while the children had great fun playing.
It was a nice surprise to see Karen, Craig, Stephen, Daniel and Heather who popped in for a quick visit and added to the enjoyment of all the children playing together. It really was a great afternoon, and sooooo warm! Mun and Livia also came over for a little while so fun was had by all. We did try to convince Olga to come with Natasha and Illya but she was being a very good wife and cooking tea for her husband Chris! You are lucky Chris!
Later, when everybody had gone home, I popped next door to see Pat and Paul with Lewis as they havent seen him for a while. Lewis loved to watch Sally (their dog) play but then he fell asleep. Pat and Paul's son Andrew was visiting from Russia (where he lives with his fiancee Natasha) and he had announced to his parents that they are expecting a baby so CONGRATULATIONS Andrew and Natasha! What great news! We had a lovely chat with Pat and Paul and Andrew and a very welcome cup of tea! Unfortunately Lew did have a mild seizure but it only lasted a couple of minutes.
We came back home again so that Lew could go to bed, then James went out with Richard and Steve, and I went in the bath and then chatted to Daisy (my niece) on msn messenger for a while and saw her and Millie (another niece) on the webcam, then I went in the bath and went to bed! Lew had a reasonable night although he was very restless around 4am and I had to go up to him.
This morning we were up early as we had arranged to go to Normanby Hall Country Park (Scunthorpe) for the day. James was up even earlier preparing the picnic! As Lew is not allowed a bath (with his allergy patches) he had to have a quick wash on the bed. By 10.45am we were all ready to go. James took Steve, Van, Nikita, Jay and Samuel in one of our cars; I took Olga, Natasha and Illya (and of course Lewis!) in my car; and Richard and Teresa took Luke, Munmun and Livia. Also Steve's sister Nina (sp), her two children Freddie and Sadie and Steve's mum came in their car so we were a 4-car convoy!

The weather was very changeable and so sometimes we were moaning that we were cold and then other times we were enjoying the warm sunshine! We had a walk round the park and then settled down for a picnic. Then we had a lovely surprise when Karen and Craig arrived with the children and so we were a very large picnic spread out on the grass!
It was really great for all the children, Lewis enjoyed watching them playing football and frisbee and running around and jumping although I am sure he would have loved to join in - perhaps one day in the future.
We then walked into the Deer Park and round the lake and saw some teeny ducklings! So cute!

We walked back and James and Richard, Teresa and Munmun went to the cafe while the rest of us had a tour around Normanby Hall which was very interesting. Nina and the children had to get off as Nina had company arriving but the rest of us met back at the cafe and had a rest and a good chat. Lew had another seizure unfortunately which lasted 8 minutes so we had to treat him with rescue medication which sorted it out very quickly. After a good hour sat down, we walked back to the play park (swings, slide, etc) and the children (and the grown ups!) played a bit longer! Lew loved watching the children on the swings, as seeing people coming towards him them away fast always makes him laugh! Which is why his favourite song at musical minis is the Hokey Cokey!

Around 5pm it was time to come home and put Lew to bed. He has had a very busy day and was very tired, but we are pretty sure he enjoyed himself! Samuel had a fab day as well, spending time with his younger friends.
James and all the men (Steve, Richard, Simon, Jon and even Paulash) are out tonight round town so watch out Doncaster! Olga is out with Chris and she was telling me that they are holding the Miss Doncaster competition tonight so perhaps she will enter and win!!
