Photographs - a reminder!

Hello again! I am soooo tired out! Have sorted out loads of stuff from the garage and made piles for charity shop (James took some to make some space!) and for hospital (toys) and for friends who have children. Lew cannot play with most of his toys anymore as they are not suitable now he has no mobility at all or use of his hands. He loves books and he loves to look at things so we have ordered this fantastic projector called laser cosmos which we hope will give him some enjoyment! We approached social services recently about assistance with converting our garage into a downstairs bedroom/bath for Lewis and they have arranged for the plans to be drawn up and they also arrange for the certified builders (certified to do disabled conversions), project manage, and provide the bath, bed, ceiling track, hoist, etc, which is fantastic news!!! So we are saving up our pennies for Lewis so that we can get him some sensory equipment in his new room when it is finished. We have also arranged with our bank to borrow some money to add a conservatory onto the back of our house which we will use as a playroom for Samuel and Lewis. We would like to get Samuel and Lewis in the same place at the same time so we will move all Samuel's computer equipment, xbox, ps2, etc downstairs, and have some of Lewis' toys in there as well (and a TV cos he lurvs TV!) and so even though they are not playing together, they are together and the aim is increased interaction as Lewis totally adores his big brother! Yesterday I had the most wonderful massage which was arranged through a contact at Lewis' hospital. It was total bliss and James is booked in to have one tomorrow! The guy who is doing it, Ian, is re-training as a sports masseur and he needs people to practice on so he has practiced on me and will practice on James tomoz! Yummmm! Also yesterday, Aunty Wendy arrived with us and cooked us the most scrumptious chilli con carne - it is a Pettifer speciality and we all had second helpings (except Wendy which is a good job as there was none left!!). Tonight Aunty Wendy is cooking us good old bangers and mash, scrummy! Elastic waistbands required! Today she has taken Samuel into town to do some shopping which Samuel is very chuffed about! He really loves Wendy (although he is very shy to show it!) so he'll be having the best time, I am sure. James is out tonight, well this afternoon (!), with Richard and Steve. They are on orders to be back by 7pm (Van and Teresa orders I think!) but we'll see! Get those three together and we'll be lucky to see them before midnight! Ooooh, we are going to see the Wiggles in June at Manchester with Denise, Oliver and Maisie! Soooo excited about that! But before then, we are going to the civic theatre (Lew and I, next Saturday) to see The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe! On Tuesday, Nicola and Jodie (nurses from Lewis' hospital who have become friends) are coming over for a girlie night in and we are having chinese take away yay!!! Lewis is currently sitting on daddy's lap watching The Shiny Show ... but if Daddy had his way, he'd be watching the football!!! Well, thats all from us for today! But please remember to pray (or think about) Laura who's nan is very poorly - we hope her final time here is as kind and peaceful as possible. And for Yolanda and Stephen, Naomi and Joshua and gorgeous smorgeous Joel who did indeed have pneumonia and is now fighting it off - keep strong Joel! Oh and a final note for Lewis' Doncaster granny and grandad - thank you so much for being such super grandparents, and we are looking forward to seeing you soon, especially grandad cos we havent seen you for a while!!! And for Grandad Skinny who has gone back to London, Lewis absolutely adores you!

and why did I call today's post 'photographs - a reminder' ... to remind myself that I need to transfer recent photos from my mobile phone to my computer so I can put them on the blog ... and I keep forgetting!

So remind me!

hi Samantha

sooo good to see progress is being made in getting your house more user (& Lew) friendly! I so wish we could see you but I guess I need Joel to get better first! But we are thinking of you always and really appreciate YOUR love and prayers for us! Love you all... kisses to Lew!

Only just been able to log on and catch up,

but, what an informative and exciting entry.... hopefully (im sure he will..)..Lewis will love his projector :)

the plans for your house sound really good... we are sorta planning on doing something a bit similiar for my nan..so that her dinning room can be converted into her bedroom so when/if she returns home it will be easier all round.
I hope the process of sorting that all out goes as smoothly and stress-free as possible for you all, and thats a fab idea for a conservatory so Lewis can spend time around his older bro :)

Glad you hada massage..its very important that you take time out for yourself and such like

It sounds like you have lots of wonderfull family members and friends who are doing a great job at being there for you all :)

hope you and lewis enjoy the lion the witch and the wardrobe.. :) sounds like fun :)

The Lewis Jeynes Fund

The Lewis Jeynes Fund was established to provide care and support to Lewis Jeynes and the success of the Fund has meant that we have also been able to purchase specialist equipment for other children with undiagnosed neurologically degenerative conditions in Doncaster and the UK.

Lewis and his friends around the UK all suffer from acute and undiagnosed life limiting or terminal conditions and very often specialist equipment is difficult to afford due to the changed circumstances at home. This is where the Fund can provide vital assistance to those in need. All of the proceeds of the Fund go straight towards helping Lewis, and other children and families like him and us.

Contributions should be sent to The Lewis Jeynes Fund, 15 Kentmere Drive, Doncaster, DN4 5FL or by BACS to Nat West Bank, “The Lewis Jeynes Fund” Account No. 35662565 Sort Code 60 06 39. You can also go into your local Nat West Bank and pay into the Fund over the counter.

i love you much (most beautiful darling) by e.e.cummings

i love you much (most beautiful darling), more than anyone on the earth and i like you better than everything in the sky -sunlight and singing welcome your coming although winter may be everywhere with such a silence and such a darkness, no one can quite begin to guess (except my life) the true time of year - and if what calls itself a world should have the luck to hear such singing (or glimpse such sunlight as will leap higher than high through gayer than gayest someone's heart at your each nearness) everyone certainly would (my most beautiful darling) believe in nothing but love
